TENNIS TIP #1

Take the Ball On The Rise

If You Want to succeed at a higher level, you have to go after the ball and stop letting it come to you. Hitting on the rise can be a daunting task, but it won't be long before you realize it's worth the effort. You need to swing at the peak of the ball's bounce or at your ideal contact point if the ball is going to bounce high, rather than waiting for it to fall into your hitting zone after it's reached its full height. In order to do that, keep these four elements in mind:

  1. Get to the ball quickly

  2. Turn your shoulders

  3. Use a short backswing; and

  4. Make sure your weight is moving forward at contact

Don't wait for the ball that bounces well inside the baseline. Go get it!
